Kids Indian Headdress


   Creating a Native American Indian headress is a great project for kids and teaches them about the Thanksgiving tradition and orgin
 

Supplies Needed: 

Construction Paper

Markers or Crayons

Glue

Scissors

Tape

Printable Feather Diagram: Feather.JPG (47.53 kb)

 

#1: Cut out a strip of brown construction paper, long ways and about 2 inches thick

#2: Place on your child’s head and adjust to the desired size and tape together

#3: Draw feathers on different color sheets of construction paper (can print out feather diagram for help)

#4: Cut out the feathers. Decorate your feathers with glitter, leaves or other fun Thanksgiving items!  

#5: Place the feathers on the back inside of the hat

#6: Decorate the band that goes around your head to reflect a Native American design

Pumpkin Face Pattern

Carving Knife

Scissors

Tape

Marker

 

#1: Print out your favorite pumpkin face

Joyful Pumpkin Face

Sleepy Pumpkin Face

Cat Pumpkin Face

Suprised Pumpkin Face

Cheerful Pumpkin Face

Goofy Pumpkin Face

Happy Pumpkin

 

#2: Cut out the shaded areas of your pumpkin face

#3: Cut a hole around the stem of the pumpkin with adults help

#4: Remove all the seeds from the pumpkin

#5: Place the pumpkin face pattern onto the pumpkin using tape

#6: Use the marker to trace the portion of the pumpkin face that you removed

#7: Have an adult help you cut out the pattern using a carving knife.

#3: Trace the printable egg template on a piece of construction paper. Do this multiple times
#4: Cut out the eggs you traced. 
#5: Cut the streamers the length you want
#6: Glue the eggs you traced and cut out at various spots on the streamers
