4th of July Decorations


   The 4th of July is a time to show everyone your patriotic spirit. Show off your patriotism with some easy to make 4th of July decorations.
 

Supplies Needed:
Construction Paper (Red, White and Blue)
Scissors
Glue

#1: Cut the red, white and blue construction paper into long strips
#2: Take a strip of paper and glue the ends together so it looks like a circle.
#3: Attach the second strip of paper by looping it through the first strip and gluing the ends together.
#4: Continue doing this until you have yourself a long patriotic chain!

Fireworks Craft Activiy


   Create your own fireworks this 4th of July with this fun craft activity from Kids Craft Zone.
 

Supplies Needed:
Straw
Paint
Paper

#1: Prepare your work environment by laying down newspaper or plastic
#2: Place a small amount of paint on the center of the piece of paper (a small paint pile).
#3: Place your straw slightly above the paint pile you made on the paper.
#4: Blow as hard as you can on the end of the straw and watch as the paint moves on the paper. Make sure your children are not inhaling when blowing on the straw.
#5: Keep blowing on the straw until the paint fans out and looks like a firework. 
#6: You can get creative and use red and blue paint on a white sheet of paper. Remember to let your drawing dry before hanging up!

4th of July Craft Project


   It's time to have fun with a little 4th of July Craft Project. Your whole family will want to get involved in making these fun patriotic stars
 

Supplies Needed:
Printable Star:

Old Toothbrush
Paint (red, white, and blue)
Paper Plate
Scissors
Newspaper or Plastic


#1: Print out the printable star
#2: Prepare your work environment by laying down newspaper or plastic
#3: Place a few small piles of paint on the paper plate
#4: Take the old toothbrush and dip it into one color of paint
#5: Dab it a few times on the newspaper to get off some of the paint
#6: Looking at the picture of the printable star rub your finger over the toothbrush. Paint will splatter onto the star as you rub your finger across the toothbrush.
#7: Rinse and dry your toothbrush before dipping it into your next color
#8: Continue coloring your star until you feel it is beautiful. Then set aside and allow to dry
#9: Once the star is dry. Take your scissors and cut along the outline of the star. Now you are ready to display your star around the house!

American Flag Sponge Painting


   Let your kids get creative this 4th of July with an easy to make American Flag Sponge Painting activity.
 

Supplies Needed:
Sponges
Paint
Paper
Paper Plate
Scissors
Marker


#1: Prepare your work environment by laying down newspaper or plastic
#2: Take a sponge and draw a star on it. On another sponge draw a small rectangle (this will be used as the stripes in the flag)
#3: Cut out the images you drew on the sponge. Ask an adult for help.
#4:  On a paper plate put a small amount of paint. This will be where you dip the sponge in the paint
#5: Dip the sponge into the paint
#6:Place the sponge with paint on it onto a piece of construction paper
#7: Use the stars and stripes to create a American Flag.
#8: Allow to dry and you are ready to hang your Flag for everyone to see!

Supplies Needed:

Large Craft Stick (or paint stick)
Scissors
Paper Plate


#1: Print out the printable 4th of July Image
#2: Color the 4th of July image
#3: Cut out the printable 4th of July image
#4: Glue the printable 4th of July image to the center of the paper plate
#5: Attach the paper plate to the large craft stick using glue. The large craft stick should be glued to the back, center of the paper plate
#6: Allow the glue to dry before using the Independence Day fan!
