Button Toss


   Have fun with this educational math game
 

Supplies Needed:

Paper or Card Board

Colored Markers or Crayons

Ruler

24 Buttons (12 of one color and 12 of another)

Score Sheet: Button Toss Score Sheet.pdf (101.97 kb)

 

#1: On the paper draw 12 of the same size squares by using the ruler. Randomly label each square with the numbers 1-12.

#2: Place the labeled paper on the floor or table. Flick all 12 of your buttons with your fingernail so it lands on the board.

#3: Use your math skills by adding up your score based on where the button landed (For Example, if all of your 12 buttons landed on 1 you would have a total score of 12). Make a note of the score on your score sheet.

#4: Pickup your buttons and let your friend have a chance at flicking their buttons. Try playing against yourself to see what your highest score will be!

Treasure Hunting


   Enjoy the treaure hunting adventure with the many different ways of to do a treasure hunt.You can have one or more players participate
 

Supplies Needed:

Paper

Scissors

Pen, Markers or Crayons

Coins (optional)

Puzzle (optional)

 

You can do a variety of treasure hunting games:

1: Use paper to cut out letters that spell the location of the treasure

2: Get a roll of 25 pennies or other coins. Hide the change around the house. While you are hiding the coins have the kids draw a treasure map of the house. As the kids find the coins they must place a coin mark on their treasure map.

3: Write up a list of common items and have the kids find the items.

4: Make each clue a riddle with the answer being the location of the next clue.

5: Clues could be a sentence with missing words that point them towards the next clue.

6: Have the children put together a puzzle. Then ask them to leave the room, flip over the puzzle and write the location of the treasure on the back of the puzzle. Then hide puzzle pieces around the house and have the kids find the pieces and put together the puzzle. They will needs all the pieces to find out where the treasure is located

Indoor Fort


   Great activity when you can't go outside to play
 

Supplies Needed:

Pillows

Sheets/Blankets

Chairs

 

#1: Design a fort by draping the sheets over the chairs. You can use the pillows as doors to your fort. Enjoy climbing in and out of your fort!

#2: Make secret sayings or knocks for those wanting to get into your fort. That way you’ll keep out unwanted guest
