Family Guessing Game


   Test your memory with this guessing game
 

Supplies Needed:

Glue

Scissors

Magazines

3X5 Index Cards or Paper cut in 3X5 rectangles

 

#1: Go through the magazines and pick out objects that look the same. You need 2 objects that look similar. Such as birds, babies, baseballs, dogs, cats

#2: Cut the objects out of the magazine and glue them on the 3X5 cards

#3: Mix up the cards and place them face down on the table and take turns flipping two cards over until you get a match.

For an added challenge:

Place one set of the cards in a box. Take turns pulling out a card and describing the picture without saying what the object is. See how long it takes your friend to guess what object you are describing.

Hop Scotch Math


   You'll forget your learning when you play hop scotch math
 

Supplies Needed:

Sidewalk Caulk

#1: Draw a hop scotch on the sidewalk or driveway. Place the numbers in each of the squares. Can be in order or randomly placed.

#2: As your child jumps on the number they have to shot the number they are standing on

*A Little More Advance: place an object on two of the numbers and the child has to shout the number as they jump on the square with the object then add, subtract, divide or multiply and shout correct answer.

Table Top Soccer Game


   Soccer is no longer an outside game with this table top soccer game you can have a soccer game inside
 

Supplies Needed:

Shoe Box or Berry Basket

Scissors

Large Piece of Cardboard

Twist Ties

Paper

Markers or Crayons

Aluminum Foil

 

#1: Cut the Shoe Box in Half. Each half will be a goal.

#2: Attach the goal to the cardboard by making a hole in each end of the shoe box. And two holes in the cardboard where the goals will be sitting. Repeat this for both sides.

#3: Place the twist tie through the holes of the shoe box and then through the holes in the cardboard and twist the ends together underneath the cardboard. Repeat this for both sides.

#4: Use crayons or markers to decorate your cardboard like a soccer field.

#5: Make your own score card out of paper and crayons

#6: Roll some Aluminum Foil up like a soccer ball

#7: You are now ready to start playing! You can use your hand like a soccer player and your middle and index fingers for kicking the ball.

(Make sure you set a point limit from the start so that you will know who wins)

Obstacle Course Ideas


   Gather household itmes and create your obstacle course
 

Supplies Needed:  

Couch Cushions, blankets, pillows, chairs, etc

Time Record Sheet: Obstacle Course Time Sheet.pdf (102.85 kb)

 

Gather items around the house to create a obstacle course:  

Pillows to jump over

Blankets to crawl under

Chairs: climb over or under

String: stretched out to crawl under or jump over.

Plastic Bottles to weave around

Couch Cushions to jump on

Paper: Put 5 math problems on a sheet or 5 states to match with their capitals (must figure out before moving on)

Kids-Airplane


   Create a airplane to fly through the clouds on
 

Supplies Needed:

4 Chairs

2 Sheets

1 Pillow

 

#1: Start by placing the 4 chairs in a square like pattern with all the backs of the chairs facing the middle.

#2: Drape a sheet from the chair in the back to the chair in the front

#3: Drape the second sheet from the two chairs on the side. This creates the wings.

#4: Give the captain the steering wheel (the pillow) and let him fly through the clouds!
