Daniel was the Kings helper but none of the other helpers liked Daniel because he worked harder and did much better work then them. So one day the helpers decided to get Daniel in trouble. They came up with a nasty plan to use Daniel’s religion against him! They told the King to make a law that nobody should be able to ask for anything from any god or man except for the king. And if someone asked for anything from any god or man besides the king they were to be thrown into the lions’ den. Daniel heard of the law but he could not obey that law. He loved God and only prayed to God. So when he prayed to God the other helpers ran and told the king. The king had no choice but to throw Daniel into the lions’ den. God meanwhile had sent an angel to be with Daniel and protect him from the mouths of the lions. The next morning when the king checked on Daniel Daniel shouted out to the king, “May your majesty live forever! God has saved me so that you will know that I am innocent, and I have served you faithfully!” The king was so excited to see Daniel that he had Daniel taken out of the lions’ den and the other helpers were arrested and thrown into the lions’ den.

A long time ago Ninevah was a city that was a very evil place. One day God came to Jonah and said I want you to go to Ninevah. God said he wanted Jonah to tell the people of Ninevah that he knew what terrible things they were doing and that if they changed God would forgive them. Jonah was scared and told God that he did not want to go. Then Jonah ran to the docks of Joppa and jumped on a boat and started to sail across the sea.Jonah thought he could hide from God. So God created a huge storm. The sailors aboard the ship were terrified and asked Jonah to pray to God to save them from droning. Jonah told the men, “God has sent this storm, throw me in to the water and the storm will go away.” So the men threw him overboard and sure enough the sea calmed. Meanwhile Jonah was sinking to the bottom of the ocean when he saw a big fish coming. The fish swallowed Jonah. For 3 days Jonah sat in the belly of the fish. So Jonah prayed to God and told him he was sorry. Just then the fish spit Jonah onto dry land! Once Jonah was saved God once again told him to go to Ninevah. This time Jonah went!

"For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 'Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth'; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed." A great war arose between Israel and the Philistines. All the Israel men including David’s three older brothers left to go join the Israel Army. David was too young and had to tend to his father’s sheep so he was unable to go fight in the war. For a long time David and his father did not hear from the 3 older brothers. So one day David’s Father decided to send David to the Israel camp to see how the 3 brothers were doing. When David arrived at the camp he found his brothers. Shouts of anger and fear came from the Israel army, David asked why were the men so angry and scared. His brother’s told him of a giant man named Goliath who would taunt the Israel Army by asking them to fight him. Not one of the Israel Army men would dare challenge such a giant. David decided he would challenge the giant Goliath "Is not God on the side of our people?" he asked. "I will fight with this man, for who is he that he should defy the army of the living God?" David went to the creek and grabbed 5 smooth stones. Armed with the stones and sling shot he went out to Goliath and said, "You come against me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield, but I come to you in the name of the Lord. This day he will give you into my hand." David won the battle against Goliath and Israel won the war!
